What To Expect
Step 1: Impressions
The first step in the process involves taking two sets of impressions of your mouth. This is a crucial stage as it helps us create dentures that fit your mouth perfectly. The impressions are made using a soft material that takes the shape of your gums and teeth when it hardens. This process ensures that your dentures will be a custom-fit solution, designed specifically for your comfort and functionality.
Step 2: Wax Bite Block
Once your impressions are complete, we'll use a wax bite block to help guide the shape of your dentures. This step is vital in ensuring that your new dentures will align correctly with your jaw movements. The wax bite block helps us understand how your upper and lower jaws relate to each other in terms of position and size. With this information, we can design your dentures to provide optimal function when you're speaking or eating.
Step 3: Try-In
The final step before your dentures are finalized is a try-in session. This is your opportunity to see how the dentures look and feel in your mouth before they are finished. During this stage, you can provide feedback on the aesthetics and fit of the dentures. We want to make sure that you're completely happy with the appearance of your smile, and that the dentures feel comfortable and natural. Once you're satisfied, we'll proceed with finalizing your dentures.

Denture Care
Denture care is essential for maintaining oral hygiene and ensuring the longevity of your dentures. It's recommended that you soak your dentures overnight in room temperature water to keep them hydrated and prevent warping. Additionally, a 20-minute soak in a denture cleaner, such as Renew, is advised every other day – though any brand offering a 2-minute soak will suffice. Lastly, remember to brush your dentures with a specialized denture toothpaste and rinse them with water to remove food particles and plaque, keeping them clean and fresh.
Don’ts of denture care:
- Do not use a 20 minute denture soak over night.
- Do not use regular tooth paste to brush the dentures with.
